...but then I went to Pathways. They taught me to love myself and that I was worth saving. The counselors really cared about me and didn't judge me. They saved my life and showed me life can be a happy place and that I deserve to be happy...

Hope, structure, and individualized care for families

Pathways To A Better Life is expanding its family-centered residential services to adolescents ages 14–17. Located at our Waldo Campus, the 12-bed program is designed to provide young people with a safe, structured, and supportive environment where they can focus on healing and personal growth.

Our adolescent program provides dual-diagnosis treatment for substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns. Care is tailored to the developmental needs of each resident and focuses on emotional regulation, healthy coping skills, trauma-informed support, education, and relapse prevention.

Family involvement is an important part of adolescent recovery. In addition to weekly Saturday family groups, adolescents and their families are offered Wednesday programming that may include group sessions, dinner, visitation, and time to reconnect. These opportunities help families improve communication, better understand addiction and mental health, and heal together.

Each adolescent receives an individualized treatment plan that is reviewed regularly by the clinical team. Length of stay is based on the young person’s progress and clinical needs rather than a set number of days.
